Our Specialized Emergency
Response Team

TOM, LLC provides tunnel operations & management, emergency response and staffing at VDOT’s I-77 mountain tunnels. ERT members perform high level emergency response services in and around the tunnels as well as the day to day facility operations and light maintenance to assure the safe and continuous flow of traffic though VDOT’s mountain tunnels.

Emergency First

Performs emergency first response to fire, hazmat, medical, grounds security, & disabled vehicles within the tunnel limits

General Upkeep

Performs basic/light maintenance & grounds keeping

Fire Training

Participates in Annual Live Fire training exercises

Support Services

Assists with Lane Closures for various tunnel maintenance tasks

OSHA/ NFPA Training

Participates in required OSHA / NFPA Safety training courses

Preparedness Drills

Participates in multi-agency drills/exercises according to HSEEP guidelines.
